Day two: afternoon & evening recap

So, the rest of Wednesday afternoon was taken up with my meeting with Information Today and Karen's presentation.

The first part of the IT meeting was to pitch a few book ideas. I'll be sending them a proposal by the end of April too. The second half of the meeting was me and my editor going over the Blog/RSS ms. It has some issues but nothing that can't be fixed with a solid read-through and a little help from a certain language-geek I know. The content is fine, so it's just polishing at this point. I've got 90 days to make the changes and turn in the second draft. (No problem.)

After my meetings I went off to see Karen's "Practical Privacy Pointers" presentation which was enjoyed by all in attendance. The moderator even commented that she had the most engaged audience and the most questions from the audience of every presentation in the track that day. Not bad for the last session of the day.

Dinner was at City Lights of China down the street. Pretty good food for the price. The music left a little to be desired however. (The same early Bee Gees (pre-disco) song kept playing over, and over, and over...)

Then is was back to the hotel lounge for drinks and conversation. Most of the usual crowd was there through there were a few notable absences. (I won't name names to save embarrassment of the guilty.) Hopefully, everyone will make an appearance tonight as it's the last night of the conference and usually ends up being a very late night.

One additional note: There's been a bit of controversey over the "core bloggers" concept here at CIL. I've got my opinions but I've decided not to wade into the middle of ths one. You can read the original complaint (by someone who's not here, BTW) and Steven Cohen's response.
